Harvard’s Ed Glaeser to Kick Off Day Two #HousingDC21 Discussion on Housing Policy and Evolving Role of the Cities

Housing Finance Strategies President Faith Schwartz today announced that noted author and academic Edward Glaeser, the Fred and Eleanor Glimp Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, will kick off day two of #HousingDC21, a 100% virtual housing summit being held on September 20-21, 2021.

Glaeser has taught at Harvard since 1992. He regularly lectures on microeconomics theory, and urban and public economics. He has served as Director of the Taubman Center for State and Local Government, and Director of the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston. Glaeser has published dozens of papers on cities economic growth, law and economics. In particular, his work has focused on the determinants of city growth and the role of cities as centers of idea transmission.

Perhaps best known for his book Triumph of the City (Penguin Press 2011), Glaeser has also recently published Mass Flourishing in an Age of Social Isolation (Penguin Press 2021). At #HousingDC21, Glaeser will provide unique insight into the public policy debate on critical housing issues.
